Olive Oil Museum - Medieval Hypogeum Oil Mill - Fasano
Come and visit the medieval underground oil mill, you will discover how olive oil was extracted in the past. The Savoy Hypogeum, located in Pezze di Greco (Fasano), is an ancient underground oil mill, already used in the Middle Ages. Today, thanks to the restoration and recovery of the equipment, it has been transformed into the Historical-Ethnographic Museum dedicated to the production of olive oil. Inside this space carved into the rock, you can admire processing tools such as presses and mills, cisterns and apotropaic masks, witnessing over a millennium of history of olive growing and the culture of the territory.
