Duration
165 Minute
Languages
English
Think Dutch food begins and ends with stroopwafels? Think again. Become an Adopted Dutchie for the day and discover what the Dutch really eat on a small-group food and walking tour through the historic city of Alkmaar. From chocolate sprinkles for breakfast to beloved favourites like cheese, kibbeling and fries, taste the everyday foods Dutch families grow up with and discover the traditions behind every bite. Between tastings, I'll share the personal stories and cultural quirks that made me fall in love with Dutch life. Discover why Alkmaar is so much more than its famous Cheese Market. Wander along picturesque canals, cross charming bridges and explore everything from its iconic windmill and historic fish market to the hidden details many visitors simply overlook. Leave feeling less like a visitor and more like an Adopted Dutchie. • Have fun across six unique tasting stations: Bread & Spread, Cheese Please, Mayo Mayhem, Cod Almighty, Snack Attack and Sweet Surrender.
