Dordogne Day Tour : Prehistory and The Art of the Caves from Sarlat

The tour will include the visit of the National Prehistory Museum that houses the largest collection of palaeolithic artefacts in the world. Then discover Lascaux IV cave, a perfect reproduction of Lascaux, in which you will contemplate the paintings that can be seen in the original cave. Finally, admire the dramatic troglodytic site of La Roque Saint-Christophe, a sheer limestone cliff inhabited since Paleolithic times, with guided explanations about prehistoric shelters and ancient engineering adapted to the cliffs. After immersing yourself in these legendary sites, travel back to Sarlat with memories of an extraordinary journey into prehistory.

• It is cold in the caves (13°C / 56°F), warm clothing is strongly recommended

• Pets are not allowed on the tour
• English tours of the Caves of Lascaux IV are very limited in number, most of the visits are in French. Your guide will explain the cave before and after the tour as simultaneous translation in the cave is strictly forbidden
