Full Description
The Insuyu Cave, located in Burdur Province, is 13 km from Burdur, on the Burdur-Antalya road, in the village of Mandıra. It is the first cave in Turkey to be opened for tourism. Inside the 597-meter-long cave, stalactites and stalagmites have formed over the years due to the melting and erosion of karst rock. Given its formation structure and the characteristics of its stalactites and stalagmites, it is believed that the cave was formed thousands of years ago. Inside the cave, there are 9 large and small lakes. The water flowing from the cave, where cool and clean air circulates, is said to be beneficial in the treatment of diabetes and stomach ailments.
