Luxor

Our representative will pick you up from your hotel and escort you to the Nile in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for your private 2-hour felucca experience. Once on board your traditional sailing boat, settle onto the soft cushions and enjoy a refreshing drink as you begin your gentle cruise along the river. As the felucca glides through the calm waters, take in scenes that have remained unchanged for millennia. Watch children playing at the river’s edge, see farmers tending their fields in timeless ways, and spot camels, water buffalo, and a variety of birds along the banks. The peaceful, natural beauty of the Nile offers an authentic glimpse into daily life in Upper Egypt. Your experience ends with one of Luxor’s most iconic sights: the sun slowly setting behind the West Bank hills, bathing the river in warm golden light. Stand in awe before the towering Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues that have guarded the Theban necropolis for over 3,400 years. Located on Luxor’s West Bank, these iconic figures once stood at the entrance of the long-lost mortuary temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Each statue, carved from single blocks of quartzite sandstone, stands nearly 18 meters tall and depicts the seated king with his hands resting on his knees, gazing east toward the Nile and the rising sun. Though weathered by time and floods, the statues remain powerful symbols of ancient Egyptian grandeur. In Roman times, one of the statues was said to "sing" at dawn—a mysterious sound attributed to divine or magical forces, drawing travelers from across the empire. Today, the Colossi of Memnon offer a fascinating glimpse into Egypt's ancient artistry, mythology, and royal legacy, making them an essential stop on any West Bank tour of Luxor.
