Rovaniemi: Snowmobile Safari & Northern Lights (New Snowmobiles)

Snowmobiling at night in Lapland offers a unique perspective — riding through silent, snow-covered forests under the Arctic sky, with the chance to see the Northern Lights above. With Arctic GM, the experience focuses on quality and comfort: small groups, quieter routes away from mass tourism, experienced guides, and premium equipment. Operated by The Original Aurora Hunters®, Arctic GM is a family-run company with roots in Lapland dating back to the 1600s. Your evening begins with pickup and transfer to a private base. After instructions, you’ll set off on snowmobiles shared between two guests, with a driver switch during the ride. The route includes around 2 hours of driving through forests and open landscapes, far from city lights. Stops are made to enjoy the surroundings and check the sky — if conditions are favorable, the Northern Lights may appear. After the ride, warm up with hot drinks and light snacks.

• Specialized infant seats are available
• Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
• Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
• Not recommended for pregnant travelers
• Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
• Children at least 15 years old and at least 140 cm tall can sit behind a driver as passengers
• Children younger than 15 years travel in a sled pulled by the guide’s snowmobile
• Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult
• Driver is liable for snowmobile damages, max self-liability 950€ per person per accident
• This tour is not available for children younger than 6 years old
• The driver of a snowmobile must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license (class B)
• The driver must be able to present the driving license and sign a liability waiver
• Each snowmobile fits two; solo riders must buy two tickets for their own ride
• Travel insurance and other emergencies are not included
