Full Description
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Mgahinga National Park:
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our company driver/guide will meet you and begin the journey to the western part of Uganda, near the borders with Rwanda and DR Congo.
The drive takes approximately 8–9 hours, with a lunch break in the colonial city of Kabale.
Continue through the scenic highlands to your accommodation in Mgahinga National Park.
Dinner and overnight at Ikaze Hotel or Traveler’s Rest Hotel.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga:
After breakfast, transfer to the Gorilla Trekking Headquarters for a briefing on trekking guidelines. The trek may take 2–6 hours, depending on the gorilla family’s location.
This is one of Uganda’s most thrilling safari highlights — an intimate encounter with a habituated mountain gorilla family in their natural habitat.
Essentials to carry face masks, rain gear, hat, mosquito repellent, camera, jungle boots, and long‑sleeved clothing. After the trek, proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight at Overland Camp.
Day 3: Lake Bunyonyi Exploration:
After breakfast, embark on a boat tour of Lake Bunyonyi’s 29 islands, including the historic Punishment Island (Akampene Island) - known for its cultural history among the Bakiga people. Choose between a dugout canoe or motorboat for your exploration. You may also visit local traditional healers, an authentic cultural experience included in the package.
Dinner and overnight at Overland camp.
Day 4: Return to Entebbe & Departure:
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe International Airport for your evening departure flight.
