Khor Virap, Azat Reservoir, Garni & Geghard Small-Group Day Trip
The tour begins at Khor Virap Monastery – with the most breathtaking views of the Biblical Mt. Ararat. Azat Reservoir – a hidden gem surrounded by the mesmerizing rolling hills of Yeranos Mountains. Next, the Pagan Temple of Garni - only standing Hellenistic pagan temple in the Caucasus Region, dating back to the first century AD - built as a temple to the sun god Mihr (Mithra). The Symphony of Stones is a stunning natural wonder, one of the most unique natural phenomenon in the world - created over millennia by volcanic activity and erosion. Geghard Monastery or Ayrivank is an important architectural, historical and religious sight in Armenia. Most of the monastery is carved inside a rock combined with architecture of 4th to 10th centuries of Armenian Renaissance.
