Bird watching in Ixtapa
Discover the diversity of birds in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo! The tour starts at the entrance of Vicente Guerrero National Park. In this part of the tour, it is possible to spot jungle birds, such as cardinals, calenders, magpies and flycatchers. For our next stop, we will take a 20-minute hike through the National Park, reaching the shore of a lagoon, where you can find lake birds: ducks, jacanas, doves and gulls, being the most common. Then we will head to the mouth of the Ixtapa River. Here, there is a great diversity of seabirds, lagoons and jungles, such as pelicans, terns, cormorants, herons, chips and woodpeckers. For our last stop, we will head to the crocodile of Playa Linda. Crocodiles and nesting birds, such as night herons, storks and spatulas, can be closely observed here. Finally, transportation will take you back to your accommodation.
