From Kaleiçi to Düden Waterfall, from Suluada to Köprülü Canyon: 25 things to do in Antalya, with duration, best time and local tips.

Content and sources last checked: 28 October 2026. Official institution and operator pages were used for visiting status and rules; the relevant product pages were used for tour duration, transfers and package inclusions. Each recommendation lists its own sources in its section. The check date is not a guarantee of opening, price or availability on your travel day.

What to do in Antalya? If you're visiting for the first time, walk the stone streets of Kaleiçi, see where Düden Waterfall pours into the sea, explore the ancient cities of Perge and Aspendos, go rafting in Köprülü Canyon and take a boat to Suluada. In the evening, watch the sunset at Karaalioğlu Park or go to The Land of Legends night show. Below you'll find 25 ideas, each with its duration, who it suits and the best time to go.

Quick picker

  • A few hours in the center: Kaleiçi, Hadrian's Gate, the Old Harbor and Karaalioğlu Park; these can be combined on foot.

  • With children or on a rainy day: Antalya Aquarium; check what the ticket covers and how to get there.

  • A free open-air plan: Kaleiçi's streets, Karaalioğlu Park and the public beaches; sunbeds, food and drink, and transport may cost extra.

  • A full day of nature or sea: Köprülü Canyon, Kemer or Adrasan–Suluada; plan transport from your hotel separately.

  • An evening show: The Land of Legends Shopping Avenue in Belek–Kadriye; the show is free, but transport and extra services may be charged separately.

The durations given are approximate planning information; unless the product itinerary clearly says so, don't assume they include a round-trip transfer from central Antalya. Fees and operating conditions can change; check the product and official operator pages before you book.

Choose your route based on where you're staying

  • On foot in the center: Kaleiçi, Hadrian's Gate, the Ethnography Museum, the Old Harbor and Karaalioğlu Park.

  • By car or bus around the center: Konyaaltı and the Aquarium are to the west; Lower Düden, Lara and Kundu to the east; Upper Düden to the north. This is not a single walking route.

  • A separate day for the eastern districts: the Perge–Aspendos–Side culture route; a separate evening return for the shows in Belek–Kadriye.

  • A separate day for the western districts: Kemer, Olympos–Çıralı, Adrasan–Suluada or Demre–Kekova. Don't squeeze them all into one day.

  • A separate plan for inland areas: Termessos or Köprülü–Tazı Canyon. The safari that includes Karacaören may also cross the provincial border.

  • Outside Antalya province: set aside a separate day, with long drives, for Pamukkale and Salda.

City center: Kaleiçi and around

If it's your first time in Antalya, start in the city center. Kaleiçi, Hadrian's Gate, the Old Harbor and Karaalioğlu Park can be combined on foot. Plan separate transport for Lower Düden, Upper Düden and Konyaaltı; these spots are not all on the same walking route. Set aside separate days for experiences in Kemer, Adrasan, Demre and the other districts.

How to read the travel times? For the center, this guide uses the Hadrian's Gate/Kaleiçi area as its reference point. Ranges given by car are one-way, approximate editorial estimates that include a planning margin; they are not live traffic measurements or transfer guarantees. Parking, breaks, hotel pick-ups and the walk at the final stop take extra time. Allow separate time for the return. Public transport times are not the same as the car estimates.

Activity and package duration: If you're visiting on your own, work out the journey there + the visit + the return separately. If you're buying a tour, check whether the listed duration includes the transfer; if it does, don't add the travel time a second time. If you're starting from a hotel in Kemer, Belek, Side or Alanya, don't use the city-center estimates.

1. Walk through Kaleiçi

The Yivli Minaret and Clock Tower in Kaleiçi, with the Gulf of Antalya and the Taurus Mountains behind
Kaleiçi is Antalya's historic center; the Yivli Minaret and the Clock Tower are on the walking route.

Kaleiçi, Antalya's historic center, is made up of narrow stone streets spanning the Roman to the Ottoman era. You can enter through Hadrian's Gate, see the Yivli Minaret, the Clock Tower and the Kesik Minaret, and take a break in the small cafés along the side streets. If you'd like to do something in Kaleiçi rather than just stroll around, the mosaic lamp workshop near Kaleiçi is a good option.

Exploring Kaleiçi's streets and booking a workshop are two different things. The linked mosaic lamp workshop is listed on its product page as 2 hours. To explore the area on your own route, you can use the municipality's Kaleiçi culture and tourism map.

Area: Muratpaşa, Kaleiçi · Duration: 2–3 hours · Suits: everyone · Best time: spring and autumn; mornings or evenings in summer · Cost: free

Center route · Getting there: Start on foot from the Hadrian's Gate area into the streets of Kaleiçi; no separate car journey is needed. Factor the slopes and steps along the streets into your plan.

2. Explore Antalya's coast by boat

Coastal trips can be taken from the Kaleiçi Old Harbor, but not every tour goes as far as Düden Waterfall. Confirm the waterfall route, departure port, duration and swimming stops in the product itinerary. If you want a longer tour with lunch and a swimming stop, you can choose the waterfall boat tour.

Linked package: The waterfall boat tour's product page gives Kundu as the departure area and 6 hours as the total duration; this package is not the short tour that leaves from the Old Harbor. Lunch, transfers and soft drinks are listed; canned drinks and what the chosen boat option covers should be checked separately.

Area: linked package departs from Kundu; Old Harbor tours are separate · Duration: linked waterfall boat tour 6 hours · Suits: visitors who fit the boat itinerary and participation conditions · Cost: depends on the package chosen

Around the center · One-way travel: The Old Harbor is reached on foot from Kaleiçi. For the linked package departing from Kundu, allow about 30–60 minutes by car from the center; this is a travel estimate separate from the 6-hour boat package. Confirm the exact port and hotel pick-up time.

Kundu route information · Route checked: 28 October 2026. The range above is rounded to allow for start/end points and a planning margin; check the current route again before you travel.

3. See Düden Waterfall

The coast where Lower Düden Waterfall pours from high cliffs into the Mediterranean
Lower Düden Waterfall, on the Lara road, falls straight into the sea.

Düden has two waterfalls. Upper Düden is in a green park in the north of the city, and you can walk along the cave path behind the falls. Lower Düden, on the Lara road, drops from high cliffs straight into the sea. To see both, along with other spots in the city, in one go, there's the Antalya city tour with a boat tour and waterfalls.

Planning: Upper Düden is in Kepez, while Lower Düden, which falls into the sea, is on the Lara coast; the two stops need separate transport. The linked city tour is listed as 7–8 hours and clearly states that a panoramic boat tour from Kaleiçi replaces the closed Tünektepe cable car. Don't treat a short waterfall visit and a full-day city tour as the same length of time.

Area: Muratpaşa / Kepez; two separate waterfalls · Duration: for short visits, plan about 1–2 hours per stop; linked city tour 7–8 hours · Cost: check parking, transport and tour services separately

Around the center · One-way travel: From the Hadrian's Gate/Kaleiçi area, allow about 20–40 minutes by car to Lower Düden and about 25–45 minutes to Upper Düden. Getting between the two waterfalls can take roughly another 30–45 minutes. If you take a municipal bus, add the walk to the stop, waiting and transfer time.

4. Explore Hadrian's Gate and the historic streets

You can explore the area around Hadrian's Gate, at the entrance to Kaleiçi, on foot and carry on through the historic streets towards the Clock Tower and the Yivli Minaret. This stop is easy to add to a Kaleiçi walk on the same day.

Tünektepe note — 28 October 2026: The Tünektepe cable car is not an active visiting option. The municipal council minutes state that the line cannot be reopened; don't book based on old cable car itineraries.

Area: Muratpaşa, Kaleiçi · Duration: 30–60 minutes (planning suggestion) · Suits: history and walking lovers · Best time: mornings or evenings in summer · Cost: seeing the gate and its surroundings is free

Center route · Getting there: The starting point is Hadrian's Gate. Combine it on foot with the stops inside Kaleiçi; the 30–60 minute visit suggestion is not a travel time.

5. Explore the Antalya Ethnography Museum

The Antalya Ethnography Museum, inside Kaleiçi, can be added to a culture route in the city center. Check the opening hours on the museum's official visitor page before you set out.

Antalya Museum note — 28 October 2026: Because of the construction of a new museum building and the relocation of artifacts, the Antalya Museum is on the Ministry's list of temporarily closed museums. Don't add it to your day plan until its reopening is officially announced. The Antalya Ethnography Museum is a different museum.

Area: Muratpaşa, Kaleiçi · Duration: about 1 hour (planning suggestion) · Suits: culture lovers · Cost: free and open according to the official visitor page at the 28 October 2026 check; check the hours and conditions again on the day of your visit

Center route · Getting there: The Antalya Ethnography Museum is inside Kaleiçi. Allow a walk of about 10–20 minutes from the Hadrian's Gate area, depending on your route through the streets; add the museum visit time on top of this.

6. Walk through the tunnel at Antalya Aquarium

A chameleon at WildPark, in the same complex as Antalya Aquarium
WildPark is in the same complex as Antalya Aquarium and is a favorite with families with children.

The best-known part of Antalya Aquarium in Konyaaltı is the long tunnel aquarium, where fish swim over your head. WildPark, in the same complex, is a separate visiting area; check whether your ticket covers both. For tickets, you can look at the Aquarium and WildPark option.

The operator's FAQ page suggests 1–2 hours for the aquarium and 20–30 minutes for WildPark. Breaks and extra sections can make it longer. The linked Aquarium & WildPark product has a residency, temporary ID or residence permit requirement for participants; confirm that you're eligible for this ticket type before you buy.

To look at the parts of the experience in more detail, you can read the Antalya Aquarium and WildPark guide. For current ticket and participation conditions, rely on the product and official operator sources above.

Area: Konyaaltı · Duration: aquarium 1–2 hours, WildPark 20–30 minutes; breaks and other sections take extra time · Suits: visitors and families who meet the ticket conditions · Cost: depends on the sections and ticket type chosen

Around the center · One-way travel: Allow about 15–30 minutes by car from the Hadrian's Gate/Kaleiçi area to Antalya Aquarium. You can use a municipal bus or a taxi; on public transport, add the walk to the stop and waiting time. The Aquarium and WildPark visit times are separate from this journey.

7. Go to a Turkish bath

After a long day of touring, a scrub and foam massage does you good. There are historic hammams in Kaleiçi as well as options with hotel pick-up. For a package with transfers and a sauna, look at the traditional Turkish bath and scrub massage option.

The linked hammam package is listed as 150 minutes. Hotel pick-up and drop-off, towels, sauna, steam room, scrub and foam massage appear on the product page. Since an oil massage is also mentioned as optional in the description, clarify before booking whether it's included in the package you choose, as well as drinks and personal expenses.

Area: depends on the operator · Duration: linked hammam package 150 minutes · Cost: depends on the package and extra services · Participation: confirm the age and operator conditions

Getting there: The hammam's address and the hotel pick-up area depend on the operator you choose, so no single travel time from the center can be given. Confirm with the provider whether the 150-minute product duration includes the transfer; plan the round trip using the venue's address.

8. Swim at Konyaaltı and Lara

Konyaaltı is a long pebble beach with mountain views on the west side of the city; Lara, to the east, is known for its fine sand. Distinguish between public beach areas and paid beach services; the cost of sunbeds, umbrellas and other services may vary by operator. If you'd like a bit of activity on calm water, a 90-minute canoe or SUP experience is a nice addition.

The linked canoe/SUP experience is listed as 90 minutes and includes a life jacket and paddle equipment. The program depends on the weather; confirm the meeting point and the conditions for children with the provider. For the location of the beaches, see the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism's marine tourism guide.

Area: Konyaaltı / Lara · Duration: half a day · Suits: everyone · Best time: June–October · Cost: public beaches are free

Around the center · One-way travel: From the Hadrian's Gate/Kaleiçi area, allow about 15–30 minutes by car to the eastern part of Konyaaltı Beach and about 30–50 minutes towards Lara Public Beach. The part of the beach you choose changes the time. You can take a bus or a taxi; for canoe/SUP, go separately to the product's exact meeting point.

9. Tour the city by electric bike

Antalya's coastal roads and parks are well suited to cycling. On a guided electric bike tour you can see Kaleiçi, the parks and the seafront in a short time; the electric assist makes pedaling easier, but you still need to be able to ride a bike.

The linked tour lasts 4 hours, with a minimum booking of 2 people. The product page states that children under 3 are not accepted. As transfers from central hotels may be charged separately, check the meeting and transfer options in advance.

Area: city center; route depends on the product · Duration: linked tour 4 hours · Participation: minimum booking of 2 people; children under 3 not accepted · Cost: the tour plus any extra transfer fee

Center route · Getting there: The tour takes place in the city center; the starting point may not be the same as Hadrian's Gate. Plan the walk or short drive to the meeting address separately. 4 hours is the duration listed for the linked tour; confirm the extra-charge hotel transfer separately.

Ancient cities

The Antalya area is surrounded by cities dating from the Roman period. Perge, Aspendos and Side are on the same route; Termessos and Olympos, set in the middle of nature, each need a separate day.

10. See Perge, Aspendos and Side in one day

Standing columns and arches in the ancient city of Perge
Perge, Aspendos and Side are on the same route.

Perge's colonnaded streets, Aspendos's still-standing Roman theater and Side's seaside Temple of Apollo are on the same route. To see all three in one day, the Perge, Aspendos and Side tour is one option; hotel pick-up and drop-off are listed in the linked package.

The linked package is listed as 10 hours. Site admissions depend on the option chosen; don't assume all entries are included in the tour fee. According to Perge's official page, the ancient theater is temporarily closed for restoration; this doesn't mean the whole site is closed. Check Aspendos's current visiting status before you travel, too.

Area: Aksu / Serik / Manavgat · Duration: linked package 10 hours · Suits: those who want a culture tour that includes walking outdoors · Cost: check separately for the option that includes admission fees

Eastern districts · One-way travel: From central Antalya, allow about 30–45 minutes by car to Perge, about 50–75 minutes to Aspendos and about 75–105 minutes to Side. These are separate estimates from the center to each stop; don't add them together to work out a tour duration. Set aside a separate day for the three stops, by private car or on a tour with transfers. Check what's included before adding travel time again to the listed 10-hour package.

Perge–Side route information · Route checked: 28 October 2026. The range above is rounded to allow for start/end points and a planning margin; check the current route again before you travel.

11. Hike to Termessos

Termessos is an ancient city built on the mountainside inside Güllük Dağı National Park. It's known as the city Alexander the Great couldn't take. Its theater looks out over the mountains, and part of the way up is on foot. Going on a guided Termessos hiking tour makes things easier.

The linked hiking tour is listed as 5 hours; pick-up and drop-off are only from designated points, and the admission fee is stated separately. Wear shoes suitable for walking on mountain trails. As current ticket office and site closing times may differ, check Termessos's official visitor page.

Area: Döşemealtı, Güllük Mountain · Duration: linked tour 5 hours · Suits: visitors able to walk on a mountain trail · Cost: the tour plus the site admission, stated separately

Inland · One-way travel: Allow about 45–75 minutes by car from central Antalya towards Termessos; the walk from the car park to the ancient city is separate from this range. Check the national park's internal road and entrance point on your navigation app. You could go by private car or on a tour that picks up from designated points; check the 5-hour package duration separately.

Termessos route information · Route checked: 28 October 2026. The range above is rounded to allow for start/end points and a planning margin; check the current route again before you travel.

Sources: Termessos: current visiting information · Tour duration and package terms · Content last checked: 28 October 2026.

12. See Olympos and Yanartaş

Olympos Archaeological Site is in Kumluca, in a valley running down to the sea. Yanartaş is a separate stop on the hillside near Çıralı, known for its natural gas flames. Plan admission and transport for the two visits separately; there is no guaranteed fixed 1.5-hour journey from central Antalya.

Yanartaş involves a walk; if you plan to go in the evening, check the current entry hours, return transport and whether you'll need a light beforehand. Olympos's Museum Pass (Müzekart) conditions should not automatically be assumed to apply to Yanartaş.

Area: Olympos: Kumluca; Yanartaş: around Çıralı · Duration: half a day–full day, a planning suggestion depending on transport and walking · Cost: check the admission and transport conditions for the two stops separately

Western districts · One-way travel: Allow about 1.5–2 hours by car from central Antalya to the Olympos or Çıralı area. Olympos and Yanartaş have separate entrances and walking points; add the transfer between them and the Yanartaş walk separately. Use a private car or a tour with a suitable itinerary; getting off at a stop on the intercity road doesn't mean you've reached your final destination.

Çıralı route information · Route checked: 28 October 2026. The range above is rounded to allow for start/end points and a planning margin; check the current route again before you travel.

Nature and adventure

The Taurus Mountains and their canyons offer rafting, jeep safaris and hiking. Itineraries and durations vary by product; in some packages, hotel transfer depends on the option chosen. Check your departure point and the total duration against the conditions of the product you choose.

13. Go rafting in Köprülü Canyon

The historic stone bridge over the turquoise Köprüçay in Köprülü Canyon
Köprülü Canyon is the Köprüçay valley where rafting tours take place.

The Köprüçay in Köprülü Canyon National Park is Antalya's best-known rafting route. Programs suitable for beginners are available; confirm the age limit, swimming requirement, guiding and equipment included with the product you choose. For the Köprülü Canyon rafting tour, check lunch, hotel transfer and the hotel areas covered for pick-up on the product page. For all options, see the Antalya rafting tours page.

The linked package is listed as 8 hours; the transfer applies only when the option with transfer is chosen. The product page lists equipment, a guide and insurance; drinks and photos/videos are extra. Although lunch is mentioned in the title and description, confirm the meal coverage of the package you choose. As the page gives no clear age limit for children, don't assume it suits every family unconditionally.

If you're thinking of combining rafting with other activities, take a look at the Antalya rafting, buggy and zipline experience guide. Combined programs have their own age limits and inclusions, so check the conditions of the package you choose.

Area: Köprülü Canyon · Duration: linked package 8 hours · Participation: the child age limit and physical fitness need to be confirmed · Cost: depends on the option with or without transfer and on extra services

Canyon route · One-way travel: Allow about 1.5–2 hours by car from central Antalya to the Beşkonak rafting area. The exact rafting base changes the time. You can choose a private car or a tour with transfers; a vehicle doing hotel pick-ups may take longer. The listed 8 hours is the tour duration, not just the time spent on the river.

Beşkonak transport comparison · Route checked: 28 October 2026. The range above is rounded to allow for start/end points and a planning margin; check the current route again before you travel.

14. Go on a jeep safari in the Taurus Mountains

A safari jeep crossing a stream bed in the Taurus Mountains
A jeep safari follows the village roads and stream beds of the Taurus Mountains.

A jeep safari is a day spent on the village roads of the Taurus Mountains, among valley views and mountain villages. The Taurus Mountains jeep safari tour is also combined with a boat trip.

The linked program is 8 hours and includes a boat section of about 1.5 hours on the Karacaören Dam; this is not a sea boat tour. Hotel pick-up and drop-off and lunch are listed; drinks, photos/videos and cave admission are extra. Clarify the pick-up area and the conditions for children with the provider. The product states that it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or serious back/spine problems.

Area: Taurus Mountains / Karacaören Dam route · Duration: linked program 8 hours · Participation: visitors suited to off-road travel and the product's physical requirements · Cost: depends on the package and extra services

A safari route that may cross the provincial border · Getting there: The linked program combines villages around Antalya with the Karacaören Dam in Burdur. Because the safari vehicle makes stops along the way, giving a single direct driving time would be misleading. 8 hours is listed as the total program; ask the provider about hotel pick-up/drop-off and the return time.

15. See Tazı Canyon and Selge

Tazı Canyon in Manavgat is known for its deep valley, seen from viewpoints. Mountain villages and the ancient city of Selge are visited on the same day. The Tazı Canyon and Selge tour suits this route.

The linked tour is listed as 6 hours; hotel pick-up and drop-off, a guide and lunch are in the itinerary, while drinks and photos/videos are extra. Ask about the total travel time from your hotel area and the walking conditions before booking. Don't assume there's a protected terrace at the viewpoint; stay on the marked paths.

Area: Manavgat, Tazı Canyon / Selge · Duration: linked program 6 hours; confirm the total time from your hotel area · Cost: package; drinks and photos/videos extra

Canyon route · One-way travel: Allow about 2–2.5 hours by car from central Antalya to the Tazı Canyon area. The roads between Selge and the other stops come on top of this. Use a private car or a program with transfers; confirm whether the 6-hour product duration covers the round trip from your hotel.

16. Consider a hot air balloon ride near Aspendos

Hot air ballooning isn't only done in Cappadocia; it's also done in Antalya. The flight area, take-off and route depend on the weather and operating permits; don't treat it as a guaranteed flight directly over Aspendos. Details are on the Aspendos hot air balloon page.

The linked product is described as a 2-hour experience with a flight of about 40 minutes; the total pick-up and drop-off time depending on your hotel's location should be confirmed separately. Flights may change or be cancelled because of the weather. As the page gives no clear minimum age, confirm children's participation with the provider.

Area: Serik, around Aspendos · Duration: the product is listed as 2 hours, with a flight of about 40 minutes; confirm the hotel transfer time · Participation: depends on the provider's age and physical requirements · Operating status: depends on the weather and operating permits

Eastern districts · One-way travel: Allow about 50–75 minutes by car from central Antalya to the Aspendos area. The balloon's actual take-off site may vary; don't assume the Aspendos theater is the meeting point. The roughly 40-minute flight, the listed 2-hour experience and the hotel transfer are different durations; confirm the full pick-up and drop-off schedule.

17. Go scuba diving in Kemer

The bays in and around Kemer, with their clear water, are well suited to diving. Introductory dives and certified dives have different participation conditions; confirm the conditions of the chosen program in advance. A boat-based scuba diving trip from Antalya and Kemer is a good start.

The linked product is listed as 6 hours. The page isn't clear enough about the age limit, certification requirement and whether equipment, lunch and transfers are included; get written confirmation from the provider before assuming these services are included. Being able to swim does not on its own mean you're fit to dive; discuss the participation conditions with the dive team.

Area: Kemer · Duration: linked product 6 hours · Participation: confirm age, certification and other diving conditions with the provider · Cost: equipment, meal and transfer coverage need to be clarified

Western districts · One-way travel: Allow about 45–75 minutes by car from central Antalya to Kemer. Confirm the final leg to the marina and the boat meeting point separately. You can use a private car, the district bus or an option with transfers; don't assume the 6-hour product duration is the total time including hotel transfer.

Kemer route information · Route checked: 28 October 2026. The range above is rounded to allow for start/end points and a planning margin; check the current route again before you travel.

Boat tours and bays

Antalya's coast ranges from short trips out of the city to full-day routes such as Suluada and Kekova; the best period is June–September.

18. Take a boat to Suluada

Tour boats anchored in turquoise water at Suluada, with people swimming
Suluada is visited on boat tours departing from Adrasan.

Suluada, off the coast of Adrasan, is known as the "Turkish Maldives" for its clear turquoise water. The Adrasan–Suluada boat tour, which can be combined with road transport from Antalya, makes swimming stops in several bays throughout the day. For other options, see the Antalya boat tours page.

The linked package is listed as 10 hours; hotel pick-up and drop-off appear in the description. However, drinks are listed as extra in one section and as complimentary tea in another, so confirm the drink coverage and the meal/transfer option in writing. Sailing and swimming stops depend on the weather.

Area: Kumluca, departing from Adrasan · Duration: linked package 10 hours · Participation: confirm the conditions for children and mobility · Cost: tour package; clarify meal, transfer and drink coverage separately · Sailings: depend on weather and sea conditions

Western districts · One-way travel: Allow about 1.5–2 hours by car from central Antalya to the Adrasan boat departure area; a transfer with hotel pick-ups may take longer. Suluada can't be reached by land; you board the boat in Adrasan. The 10-hour package and the boat trip alone are different things; if the transfer is included, don't add the travel time to the total program again.

Adrasan route information · Route checked: 28 October 2026. The range above is rounded to allow for start/end points and a planning margin; check the current route again before you travel.

19. Tour the Kekova sunken city, Demre and Myra

Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliff in the ancient city of Myra
Myra's rock tombs are a stop on the Kekova and Demre tour.

In Kekova, you pass by boat over ancient structures that have sunk beneath the sea. On the same day you also see the Church of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) in Demre and the rock tombs of Myra. The Kekova, Demre and Myra day tour covers this route in a single day.

The linked package is listed as 10 hours; the itinerary includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, a guide and a 1-hour Kekova boat trip. Site admissions and drinks are stated as separate charges. This route isn't just a boat trip; check the long road section, the port where you board the boat and the current admission coverage.

Area: Demre / Kekova · Duration: linked tour 10 hours, of which 1 hour is listed as the boat trip · Cost: consider the tour, site admissions and drinks separately

Western districts · One-way travel: Allow about 2–2.5 hours by car from central Antalya to Demre. If the Kekova boat leaves from another port such as Üçağız, getting to the port takes extra time. Use a private car or a tour with transfers; don't assume the district bus will take you all the way to the boat. The 1-hour boat section of the 10-hour package is separate from the road travel time.

20. Ride a pirate boat in Kemer

Pirate-themed boats offer children a fun day at sea: swimming breaks, a foam party and music. You can review the itinerary details for the Kemer pirate boat tour.

The linked product is listed as 9 hours, and a foam party and swimming breaks are mentioned. Activities specifically for children, a quiet area, the minimum age, and meal and transfer coverage aren't explained clearly enough on the page; confirm them before booking, especially with young children. For this reason, it shouldn't automatically be considered a suitable option for every family with children.

Area: Kemer · Duration: linked product 9 hours · Participation: suitability for children and the age limit should be confirmed · Cost: clarify meal and transfer coverage before booking · Sailings: depend on the weather

Western districts · One-way travel: Allow about 45–75 minutes by car from central Antalya to Kemer. Confirm the exact boat harbor and departure time; you may need to walk or take a taxi after the district bus. Clarify before booking whether the 9-hour product duration includes the transfer from Antalya.

Where to book a boat tour in Antalya?

You can book a boat tour in Antalya in three ways: on the spot at the Old Harbor, through your hotel or an agency, or online.

On the spot at the harbor: You can compare the boat options at the Kaleiçi Old Harbor by route, duration and departure time. Not every short tour goes as far as Düden; if you want to see the waterfall, ask about the route before booking. Confirm the swimming stop and hotel shuttle separately.

Hotel, agency or online: Whatever the sales channel, compare the tour duration, included services, departure port, hotel pick-up area, cancellation terms and total cost. Don't assume the transfer is included in every package or for every hotel.

Which tour departs from where? The departure point depends on the product. On Suluada tours you usually board the boat in Adrasan; packages bought in Antalya may include a road transfer to this point. On Kekova routes, the boarding port and the road itinerary vary by provider. For the Kemer pirate boat, check transport to Kemer separately. Don't assume that all city and Düden tours leave from the Old Harbor. Before booking, confirm the meeting point, transfer area, return time and cancellation terms on the product page.

Day trips outside Antalya: Pamukkale and Salda

Pamukkale is in Denizli and Lake Salda is in Burdur; both are outside Antalya province. For a direct car journey from the center, allow a planning margin of about 3–3.5 hours one way to Pamukkale and about 2.5–3 hours to Salda. On a tour combining the two stops, the road between them and the visits come on top. These routes shouldn't be added to a few hours of sightseeing in the city center; plan them as a separate, full day.

21. Take a day trip to Pamukkale

Pamukkale's white travertine terraces and shallow pools of water
Pamukkale's travertines can be visited on a day trip from Antalya.

Pamukkale's white travertines and the ancient city of Hierapolis can be visited on a day trip from Antalya; since the drive is long, the day starts early. You can review the current itinerary of the Pamukkale, Hierapolis and Cleopatra's Pool tour.

The linked tour is listed as 12 hours. An extra transfer fee is stated for hotels in Belek, Kemer, Side, Manavgat and Alanya; a shopping stop is also part of the itinerary. Swimming in Cleopatra's Pool is mentioned as a separate charge; its presence in the product name does not prove that the pool is open on your chosen day or that entry is included. Confirm current access to the pool, lunch and site admissions before booking.

Area: Denizli; outside Antalya province · Duration: linked tour listed as 12 hours; may vary by hotel area · Cost: confirm the extra transfer, admissions, meal and pool coverage

Outside Antalya province · One-way travel: Allow about 3–3.5 hours by direct car journey from central Antalya to Pamukkale. You could consider a private car or a full-day tour with transfers; if you take the bus to Denizli, add the final leg to the site. On the 12-hour linked tour, check the overall coverage of travel and visit; this time is not only the time spent at the site.

22. See Lake Salda

Lake Salda in Burdur is known for its white shores and turquoise water. It's possible to fit it into the same day as Pamukkale: the Lake Salda and Pamukkale day trip.

The linked program combines Salda with Pamukkale, but the page doesn't state an exact duration in hours. Confirm the departure day, total duration and the Pamukkale/Hierapolis admission fee with the provider in writing; the product's admission fee information is not consistent across its sections.

Don't treat Salda as an unrestricted swimming beach. According to the official announcement, entering the lake and swimming are banned on the White Islands shore. Plan your visit around the permitted areas and current local guidance.

Area: Burdur / Denizli; outside Antalya province · Duration: full-day program; the exact duration in hours is not stated on the page · Cost: admission and meal coverage should be clarified in writing · Visiting: subject to protected-area rules at Salda

Outside Antalya province · One-way travel: Allow about 2.5–3 hours by direct car journey from central Antalya to Salda. The Salda–Pamukkale combination is a different, longer route than a direct Salda round trip; the road between the two stops comes on top. Use a private car or a combined tour; since the product's total duration in hours isn't given, confirm the departure and return times in writing.

Evening, family and flavors

When the day is over, Antalya is all about sunsets, night shows and local food; most of the ideas in this section also suit families with children.

23. Watch the night show at The Land of Legends

The Land of Legends Shopping Avenue in the Belek–Kadriye area can be visited for its evening shows. According to the operator, the Shopping Avenue night shows are free. Check the show days and times in the official program before you go.

The free night show is different from paid theme park admission. When you look at the The Land of Legends night show tour on BiletAndMore, check whether the package includes transport and which services it covers; don't treat the package fee as an entry fee for the free show.

For more about the show experience, you can go to the The Land of Legends night show guide. For the current program and the distinction between the free show and paid transport, rely on the official operator statement in this section.

Area: Serik, Belek–Kadriye · Duration: evening; depends on the program and transport · Suits: families with children, couples and groups · Cost: the Shopping Avenue night show is free; the theme park, transport and extra services may be charged separately

Eastern districts · One-way travel: Allow about 40–60 minutes by car from central Antalya to The Land of Legends in Belek–Kadriye. You can use a private car, a taxi or a transport package. Public transport may require changes and a final leg from the last stop; arrange your return after the night show in advance. This journey is separate from the show time.

24. Watch the sunset at Karaalioğlu Park

Karaalioğlu Park, right next to Kaleiçi, looks out over the sea from the top of the cliffs. The public viewing areas around Hıdırlık Tower can be added to a sunset route; visiting the park doesn't mean going inside the tower. Dinner in Kaleiçi afterwards makes a good end to the day.

The municipality's Kaleiçi guide describes the sea-view terraces and the walking route in Karaalioğlu Park. Sunset times change with the season, so plan around your visit date.

Area: Muratpaşa, Karaalioğlu Park · Duration: 1–2 hours · Suits: everyone · Best time: year-round · Cost: free

Center route · Getting there: Allow a walk of about 10–20 minutes from the Hadrian's Gate/Kaleiçi area to Karaalioğlu Park, depending on your route. The suggested 1–2 hour visit to the park is separate from this walk.

25. Try the local food

Piyaz with tahini, hibeş and candied pumpkin with tahini are among the local specialties you can try in Antalya. The Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism's guide to Antalya cuisine introduces these dishes. Antalya piyaz, which has a geographical indication, stands out from other kinds of piyaz with its tahini-based tarator sauce.

When choosing a restaurant, check the current menu and prices; this guide does not guarantee the service or prices of any particular venue. Bear in mind that piyaz and hibeş contain tahini and that recipes may use additional ingredients such as egg, and ask the venue about the ingredients.

Area: varies by venue · Duration: — · Suits: everyone · Best time: year-round · Cost: depends on the restaurant

Getting there: There's no single place to visit for local food. You can combine a restaurant inside Kaleiçi with your walking route; for another venue, plan transport using its exact address. Calculate the meal time and the travel time separately.

What to do in Antalya in 1 day?

A one-day center route: In the morning, allow about 2–3 hours for Hadrian's Gate and Kaleiçi. After a lunch break, walk to the Old Harbor; if the weather and sailing schedule allow, choose a short boat tour. If you'd rather see Lower Düden instead of the boat, plan the round-trip transport separately. At sunset, head to Karaalioğlu Park and finish the evening in Kaleiçi.

These times are planning suggestions; they vary with boat sailings, traffic and the season. On rainy days, you can shorten the open-air stops and choose an indoor option such as Antalya Aquarium. The Antalya Museum is not included in the route because it is closed. Set aside a separate day for Perge–Aspendos–Side or Suluada.
