Full Description
Day 1. In the morning you will be picked by our company driver guide from Kigali International Airport and proceed to the City tour includes the Genocide memorial followed by the lunch break in the City center and spent a night at Five to Five Hotel. Day 2. After breakfast at 9.30 am, it takes not more than 4 hours drive to Akagera National Park, lunchbreak will be served at the choice of our accommodation and relax while viewing the park as you prepare for the next early morning activity in the park; Akagera Rigno Lodge. Day 3. After breakfast you will take your packed lunch and do the game drive in the Akagera National Park to search for the big five mammals and different bird species followed by the boat at Lake Ihema Akagera National Park is a protected area in eastern Rwanda along the international border with Tanzania. Dinner and overnight at Kafunjo guest house. Day 4. After breakfast you will drive for 7 hours to Nyungwe Forest National Park via the Nyanza Kingdom Palace; The Kingdom of Rwanda was a Bantu kingdom in the modern-day Republic of Rwanda, which grew to be ruled by a Tutsi monarchy. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwenziza Ecolodge. Day 5. After breakfast it takes you 45 minutes to Nyungwe offices for the chimp trekking, It was one of the oldest Nyungwe Forest is located in southwestern Rwanda, on the border with Burundi, where it is contiguous with the Kibira National Park to the south, and Lake Kivu and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. The Nyungwe rainforest is probably the best preserved montane rainforest in Africa. It is located in the watershed between the basin of the river Congo to the west and the basin of the river Nile to the east. From the east side of the Nyungwe forest comes also one of the branches of the Nile sources. Nyungwe National Park was established in 2004 and covers an area of of rainforest, bamboo, grassland, swamps. You will spend the night at Peace Guest House. Day 6. After breakfast it takes 3 hours drive to lake Kivu and have a lunch break at Peace guest House as the choice of the accommodation; Lake Kivu is one of the African Great Lakes lies on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, and is in the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. Lake Kivu empties into the Ruzizi River, which flows southwards into Lake Tanganyika In 1894, German explorer and officer Gustav Adolf was the first European to discover the lake In the past, Lake Kivu drained toward the north, contributing to the White Nile. Later you will enjoy the afternoon boat cruise along the Lake Kivu. Day 7. After breakfast you will drive to Kibuye for 4 hours drive and have lunch at your chosen accommodation-Paradise Malahide. Later you will take afternoon the boat to the Napoleon Island along the Lake Kivu. Day 8.After break fast on the way to Musanze it will take you 5 hours include the Pfunda Tea Factory and spend a hour at the green tea fields of Pfunda and experience how tea in Rwanda is picked, dried, fermented, packed and drunk. The Pfunda Tea Tour starts at the Cooperative office where your guide will explain the background of the cooperative and history of tea and tea production in Rwanda. From Pfunda head office, the day continues on the back of one of the Tea Cooperative’s trucks where guests travel with the rest of the tea workers from the Pfunda tea cooperative out into the tea plantations. The Pfunda tea plantations stretch over several square kilometers and with wonderful views over an endless sea of light green tea bushes crisscrossed with pathways and streams covering the rolling hills and valleys. Once at the plantations, all visitors are given the same aprons, gloves and picking baskets as everyone else. Your guide will teach you about growth and more. Your lunch break will be served at your choice of accommodation-Isange Paradise Resort. Day 9. After breakfast you will do the Volcanoe hiking Dian Fossey graveyard hike. The Dian Fossey & gorilla graveyard should be a must hike on hiking tour in Volcanoes National Park. Located in the valleys between Mt. Bisoke & Karisimbi, the graveyard is where Dian Fossey and her lovely gorillas were laid to rest. The hike to gorilla graveyard offers insight into Dian’s legacy on gorilla conservation and protection. You need just 3-4 hours to walk to the graveyard and back, which involves navigating via the lush vegetation. Embark on a day hike from Kinigi after briefing through Dian Fossey grave trail. The tomb site of Dian Fossey lies at elevation of 2967m and the actual hike starts from Mt. Bisoke trail, then you navigate towards Mt. Karisimbi. The trek is expected to run for 3-4 hours and the entire hike offers a deep insight into the Dian Fossey and her gorilla research journey in the Virunga Volcanoes. You will be accompanied by a well-trained guide from Volcanoes National Park Rwanda. Your last night will be at Isange Paradise Resort. Day 10. After breakfast you will do the tour to the Musanze Caves followed by the Ishuti art and Musanze Market on top of that proceed t0 Kigali Airport for the evening flight back and end the trip.
