Komani Lake: Shala River Boat Tour (Koman/Shkoder)

Shala River makes you do a double take—turquoise water, steep cliffs, and that calm “we’re really here?” feeling. Locals call it the Albanian Thailand for a reason. The ride there is half the fun: a panoramic cruise across Komani Lake, with mountain views and narrow canyon stretches made for photos. You’ll pass quiet bays and tiny lakeside villages, with the Albanian Alps in the background on clear days. On board, you’ll travel on a roomy boat (up to 52 guests) with a multilingual crew, so things run smoothly without feeling rushed. Start in Koman or take the easy transfer from Shkodër—once you’re on the water, the pace changes. Drinks are available to buy on board. Seats are comfy, and the crew keeps the day simple and safe, too! Then it’s your time at Shala: swim, float, try kayaking if it’s available on-site, or grab a spot on the rocky riverbank and relax. No forced agenda—just fresh air and clear water. Life jackets are provided and guests are insured, so you can focus on the fun.
