Hawaiian Salt Farm Tour in Kona

Hawai‘i Island’s only working salt farm, featured on Guy Fieri’s “Guy Hawaiian Style,” is located on a scenic 7-acre oceanfront site in the Hawai‘i Ocean Science & Technology Park (HOST Park)—a community dedicated to ocean innovation. Our salt is hand-harvested by our Chief Salt Maker from deep ocean water drawn from 2,200 feet below the surface. On tour, you’ll learn about the cultural significance of Hawaiian salt (paʻakai), the journey of our ultra-pure water, and our solar-evaporation process. Enjoy a guided salt tasting, with pure, flavored, and smoked varieties. Optional cold deep ocean water foot soaks are available. If you're short on time, visit our retail store—just minutes from the airport. Through our Give Back program, 1% of revenue supports marine debris cleanup and coral restoration.
