Sapphire Ice Cave Tour from Jökulsárlón - Extra Small Group

An extra-small group tour to an ice cave located on Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier. This tour is operated by a small, local company. You'll meet your licensed guide at Jökulsárlón. From there it's an approximately 35 minute drive in a 4x4 truck to the glacier parking. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the edge of the glacier. There we put on crampons and start a 45 minute hike on the ice towards the ice cave. We usually spend around 30-45 minutes in the cave, taking plenty of photos and exploring the various formations in the cave.
